National Night Out is a community-police awareness-raising event in the United States, held the first Tuesday of August.

After all of this unrest in Baltimore and other cities across the country, I think this is a good time for everyone to come out with the police get to know them and their neighbors. Free Food, police demonstrations awareness materials from many helpful organizations and things for the little ones to do. It’s a great family night out event.

In West Anne Arundel County there are three local neighborhoods participating in National Night Out and they are Crofton at the Crofton library, Fort Meade at the parade field and Villages of Dorchester at the clubhouse (Arundel Mills Boulevard).
