Most of Us

Most of us don’t want to get hurt, but most of us don’t know how much is too much when it comes to alcohol consumption.

According to the 2016 Maryland Young Adult Survey on Alcohol, 73.12% Anne Arundel County respondents, ages 18-25, reported drinking daily, weekly or monthly during the past 12 months, and most claimed they “do not know the definition of binge drinking”. The CDC defines binge drinking as “5 or more drinks for males and 4 or more drinks for females within a short time period”.*

While most people find binge drinking to be fun and a way to socialize, this behavior can result in unintentional injuries, sexually transmitted diseases, liver disease, alcohol-related crashes, violence, suicide, alcohol poisoning, and even death.*
